A joint project with the Nehanim Be’Noam association, named after the late Noam Ivgi, which manley hosts diverse classes at no cost that allow children a framework in which they can develop despite any financial difficulties at home. The activity was runned by a high-quality volunteer team with the aim of fostering and encouraging young leadership skills among the volunteers and a strong connection with the community.

כחלק מתפיסת עיר העתיד בית שמש 2030, ובשיתוף פעולה בין אגף החינוך בעיר, קרן שמש וקרן טראמפ, הקימו את תוכנית טראמפ למצוינות במתמטיקה ומדעים. שאיפת התוכנית היא להרחיב את מעגל המצוינות בעיר, כך שלפחות 40% מתלמידי חטיבות הביניים והתיכונים בעיר ילמדו בכיתות מצוינות במתמטיקה ובמדעים. בתכנית זו משתתפים 8 בתי ספר ממלכתיים וממ”ד ו-4 בתי ספר חרדיים. במסגרת התכנית, בכל בית ספר, יפתחו בכיתות ט’ כיתות ייעודיות בהם ילמדו 4 שעות שבועיות בנוסף לשעות ההוראה הרגילות – 2 ש”ש של חשיבה מתמטית כהכנה ל-5 יח”ל ו ו- 2 ש”ש לפיתוח חשיבה מתמטית בהקשר מדעי-טכנולוגי. בנוסף, בתכנית זו ניתן דגש גדול על שיפור והכשרת המורים למתמטיקה ומדעים על מנת להגביר את יכולות ההוראה שלהם ולהתאים אותה לאתגרים של המצוינות בתחומי המתמטיקה ומדעים
As part of the concept of the future city of Beit Shemesh 2030, and in collaboration between the city’s education department, Keren Shemesh and the Trump Foundation, the Trump program for excellence in mathematics and science was established. The program aspires to expand the circle of excellence in the city so that at least 40% of middle and high school students in the city will study in honors classes in math and science. This program involves 8 public and religious schools and 4 ultra-Orthodox schools. As part of the program, in each school, dedicated classes will be opened in the ninth grade where they will study 4 hours a week in addition to the regular teaching hours – 2 hours of mathematical thinking in preparation for honors classes and 2 hours for the development of mathematical thinking in a scientific-technological context. In addition, this program places great emphasis on improving and training math and science teachers in order to increase their teaching abilities and adapt them to the challenges of excellence in math and science.
The “Sponsor a Child” program serves as a platform that enables children who come from disadvantaged families in the city of Beit Shemesh to realize their potential and guide them to succeed in their studies. In this program, Keren Shemesh supports underprivileged families and helps them provide their children with everything they need in order to succeed in school. Furthermore, the foundation assists in the purchase of school supplies, finances for the children the purchase of textbooks, the participation in cultural, sports and school activities as well as school trips and other extracurricular activities. In addition, the foundation provides funding for hot and nutritious meals for each child in the program and allows each child to receive [as needed] didactic / psycho didactic analysis and diagnoses in order to maximize the children’s success regardless of their family’s socioeconomic status. By doing so, each child is given a real opportunity to maximize his / her potential, thus opening the door for academic achievement and optimal integration into Israeli society.
The “Someone to Believe in Me” program serves as a springboard to academic success for the disadvantaged, immigrant Ethiopian youth residing in Bet Shemesh. Through this true grassroots initiative, young professionals — some of which are Ethiopians themselves — serve as role models and mentors, assisting youth from the Ethiopian communities with their school work, thus opening the doors of educational achievement and nurturing aspirations for higher education. The program cultivates positive study habits, encourages parental involvement and builds motivation to strive for eligibility for higher education.
תוכנית “אמץ ילד” משמשת כפלטפורמה המאפשרת לילדים המגיעים ממשפחות קשות יום בעיר בית שמש לממש את הפוטנציאל הגלום בהם ולנתבו להצלחה בלימודיהם. בתוכנית זו, תומכת קרן שמש במשפחות מעטות יכולת ומסייעת להם להעניק לילדיהם את כל מה שהם צריכים על מנת להצליח במסגרת בית הספר. בתוך כך, מסייעת העמותה ברכישת הציוד לבית הספר, מממנת עבור הילדים את רכישת ספרי הלימוד, את ההשתתפות בפעילויות התרבות, הספורט והטיולים בבית הספר. בנוסף, דואגת העמותה למימון של ארוחות חמות ומזינות לכל ילד/ה בתוכנית ומאפשרת לכל ילד/ה לקבל [על פי הצורך] אבחונים דידקטיים/פסיכודידקטיים על מנת למקסם את הצלחתם של הילדים ללא תלות במצב הסוציואקונומי של משפחתם. על ידי כך, לכל ילד/ה ניתנת אפשרות אמתית למצות את יכולותיו/ה ובכך פותחים עבורם דלתות להישגים אקדמיים ולהשתלבות מיטבית בחברה הישראלית
תוכנית “מישהו שמאמין בי” משמשת כמקפצה להצלחה אקדמית של ילדי העולים האתיופים המתגוררים בבית שמש. באמצעות יוזמה אזרחית זו, בעלי מקצוע צעירים- חלקם אתיופים בעצמם- משמשים כמודל לחיקוי ומנטורים, העוזרים לנוער מהקהילות שלהם בעבודות בית הספר, ובכך פותחים עבורם דלתות להישגים אקדמיים ומטפחים שאיפות להשכלה גבוהה. התוכנית מקדמת הרגלי למידה חיוביים, מעורבות הורית בנעשה בבית הספר ובונה ומעודדת שאיפה להגיע ללימודים אקדמיים
